I would think you would have no problem with a standard height C5. You might scrape the plastic air deflector but that's no big deal. I always scraped at my old house's driveway, my neighbors looked at me funny as it make a horrible noise but it does no real damage.
my dad used to have a 05 and the driveway at that house at the time wasn’t steep what so ever but it still scraped the damn still.
does removing the damn effect cooling or anything else?
My 2000 Procharged C5 has the middle section of the front air dam removed. It was done by the previous owner who installed the supercharger. That car runs cooler than my other Vortec V2 supercharged C5 with the entire air dam intact. Part of the reason, however, is that the Procharged one has a Tigershark front clip (designed for greater air flow), whereas the Vortec car has the original front clip.
I am having the same issues as some of you. I just got my 08 and was worried about getting in the driveway. Well I got in the driveway. I am not so worried about the air dam as I am scraping the painted front that doesn’t have a mark on it.
I tried different angles and approach and on some one of the rear tires come off the ground (yikes).
I think my issues is the road is on an incline which complicates my problem.
I am looking at trying to redo the end of the driveway to try and reduce the incline.
A question I have is with one rear wheel coming off the ground will that hurt anything?

Mine does that and spins a rear wheel if I hit it too slowly or stop in the wrong spot. Just keep it moving and you'll be fine. I'm sure it wears clutches more, but how much I can't say.
There are guards such as fangs or wheels that attach to the lower radiator supports that will help. I always hit at an angle as I am lowered about 1.5 inches but also moved to C6 wheels which add on .5 inch. It wont be the nose that scrapes, but most likely the 3-piece front spoiler.
Thanks for the reply’s.
I was concerned about the rear wheel coming of the ground.
I see Corvette Mods sell a front bumper scrape protector for the under side of the bumper.
stick on 1/8” thick.
I may try that for some added security.
I have a pretty steep driveway where it meets the street. 75% of the time I can back out with no scraping. The other 25% probably hitting it at a bad angle and it only catches the center rubber air dam. Makes you cringe a bit at first, but then it doesn't bother you. Pulling in I've never scraped the dam.
