Unbelievable wide range of choices from 350.00 EBAY Chinese knock-offs to pretty much any price you want to pay. So I agree with ~Josh , Uh nope!

Hard to say what you should do as a small book can be written on c5 ls headers in regards to history, clones, proper usage in regards to tube diameter, etc.

You have 20 YEARS of every thread you can think about in regards to headers.

Search and find hours of reading. Post a thread if you need to clarify a few choices. Maybe post what you have planned, etc and you’ll get a more complete response compared to, Nope.

The fact you want to keep your cats narrows it down a bit. I think LG and Kooks both offer cat options. The popular Speed Engineering do not.

TPS Motorsports, they are a vendor on here too.

But get OEM GM MLS gaskets.

Like Smitty said, TPS has a catted X-pipe option. I recently installed a TPS LT and catless X setup and I'm very happy with it. Fit and alignment was absolutely perfect. There was a hiccup with the shipping and Cesar and Mike fixed it quick and easy. The parts are quality and the people are easy to work with. I'd look at them.

All the quality header manufacturers offer catted x pipes. If you want to keep your factory cats you will have to have them welded in

Right, LG comes to mind with their super great (and expensive..) headers, with their catted Xpipe. Also remember emissions, where you are located ?

I did Kooks long tubes and their cat-less x pipe before supercharging it. Headers, x pipe and factory NPP exhaust, I was at 440 whp 440 torque Z51 A8.

I just recently installed American Racing Headers with the Catted X-Pipe. The fit, the finish, and the performance is top notch!

If your looking for a quality set of headers give our TPS Motorsports RPM 1-7/8" headers a try... you won't be disappointed. They're made in the USA with full stainless steel and have a lifetime warranty. PLUS they include everything you need to install them including GM gaskets, Spark Plug Wire Boot Protectors, and a Catch can ... PLUS we offer catted options We have them in stock ready to ship including ceramic coated versions which there is no waiting AND unlike some Chinese Made headers you don't need to hack up your exhaust to make them fit.. many of them require you to cut off the flange of the cat back

Default a vote for Kooks

Hi
I am running Kooks headers and xpipe with cats. The Kooks are really small and I don't think they are affecting any performance. They fit very good

My suggestion is.
Pay more for a quality header. Yes ,you could buy some cheapies ,but, as has been said
the fit and finish will be inferior. Also, if you are installing, you want that to go, as fast, as
posiable, without you cussing too much. More expensive(US built) headers are easy to install.
Good luck

Just did mine and their great
and just so you know the price...
Kooks 1 7/8" Headers 1065.00
Kooks Catted Connection 975.99
Install Headers and x-pipe 495.00

so, not cheap
but you'll love the sound

just giving you an example of what it cost
I'm sure there are cheaper options
good luck with your search

Yes... spending more on a quality header will result in less issues and is actually cheaper to install.

Hello,
I'm in the same boat as Joey, first purchase of a Corvette exhaust system. I'm shocked at how expensive the exhaust systems are on Corvettes.
From heads to exhaust tips , you could easily spend $3500+. Top quality aftermarket cylinder heads are $2500+ , and worked GM s are $2000 and less. As an old hot rodder , but new to the LS Corvette world, I find this extremely strange and disturbing. From everything I've read from various sources, ARH seems to be the way to go, all factors considered. Very expensive, but not beyond reasonable comprehension, like some. Better fitment, performance, and quality stainless steel than most in their price range.
Yet, their price range is still on the brutal side. Now, in my opinion, cheap chinese made, or generally outsourced, foreign garbage is out of the question. That includes American speed retailers who sell this crap as a presumed U.S. made products, as well as, all the on line total ultra-crap.
So, where does that leave us? For me, two places for a reasonably priced supposed quality product. One would have to be Flowtech, which is basically Hooker jr., and the other is TPS rpm. Both seem to be quality products for right at $1000, heads to axle. TPS makes an express claim to be American made , backs it with strong guarentee, and throws in the cats for that $1000, unlike Flowtech. Yet, Flowtech is Hooker, and ultimately Holley, huge names and performers for decades in the hi performance world.
Does anyone have any personal experience, or knowledge concerning either product ? Anything would be appreciated. Thanks,

I don't have any experience with Flowtechs but ours have longer primaries which means ours will produce more power. Also the $999 price doesn't include cats.. that is a $350 option. Our cats are made in the USA and hold up very well unlike some other cats on the market
