Brining this thread back as I am looking to potentially buy a Tech II.
Does this ebay dongle allow programming too, or just code reading? It just says scanner.
I have this exact unit and yes, it can read and write. I used mine to turn on the TPMS system on my Z06, super simple. Can it do everything a GM Tech2 can do...I don't know since I don't have a GM Tech2 however I have not found one thing it can't do that a GM Tech2 is supposed to do. The software is finnicky to get installed and the instructions aren't great but once you have it installed, it works just fine.
I saw on another thread that you are looking to replace a BCM. It is my understanding that this unit can make all the changes necessary to reconfigure a new (to you) BCM. You would basically go to the BCM RPO Reprogram section and turn on/off the RPO codes that match your car. (see below)
Check out this thread towards the end. I just bought a TopDon scanner and it's awesome. Bi-directional, activate sensors, see and record live data. Usually like $70 or so but got mine for free with my Amazon points. Reads all the modules. Highly recommend. Also has some alternative scanners listed. http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...c5-and-c7.html
Have questions for you guys:
1. The Tech2win program.....is it correct that this is for diagnostics only; not bi-directional?
2. What TOPDON unit did you get? I did a search and found way too many choices.

Thanks,
Here you go. It's a TopDon Topscan Bluetooth scanner
May need to replace my mag ride control shocks soon. Planning on going the Bilstein route but then need to reprogram to eliminate them from the system. I think I read a shop charges 200 to do it. Does this allow you to do that reprogramming?

If you use the VCXNano & Tech2win, you can turn off the RPO F45 (Real Time Damping).

VCXNano and Tech2win Just looks like a bunch of Chinese spyware. Anywhere I can get a clean copy without the spyware by PRC?
