I used mine last week. Definitely cuts down some of the wind in the cockpit, but I still have windows up if driving spirited. And cockpit is probably a bit quieter. Mine takes about two minutes to set up. No holes in seats or bolting required. Two “L” shaped foam angle pads with a cylindrical opening to hold the screen posts in place are all that’s needed. Just like placing a flag pole in a secure holder. One on each side and held in place when closing the vert hatch back down. I can take some pics mañana if you want to see exactly what is involved.

Default Wind deflecter

I just bought the car and haven’t had the top down yet. I wasn’t sure if they really work or are just for show.

I like that one! What kind is it? I think those clear plexiglass ones with the lit up graphics are a little over the top. This looks like it is something that would come from the factory if they made one.

Having a wind screen in a vert is like driving the vert with the top down and the windows up. . Just my .02 worth.

I believe it is the GM factory. No markings and it has a black naugahyde bag to hold it. I was pleasantly surprised to see it in the trunk when I bought the car. Agree with you, why have an etched “corvette” logo or moniker on a relatively obscure add-on? People can see it’s a vette! Well, to each their own.

Hepcat, that looks like the Vette Net that I believe is now an obsolete company. They made the screen mesh deflectors, then a plexiglass version that apparently GM copied and competed with for sales.
My wife's '01 BMW Z3 has a factory-OEM deflector screen and it works extremely well, and I have been considering this mod for Cordelia. The going price for these out of production pieces seems to be at least $200 on ebay, so I'll save my pennies; it looks like there's no rubbing issues on the waterfall, which was my biggest concern

I sometimes drive my car with the top down and the windows up. Sometimes with the heat on as well. I used to have a Porsche 911 convertible with heated seats and factory wind block. There were many times when the sun was out but the temperature was cold so nice to have the top down and the heated seats on with windows up. I'd like to have a wind block and heated seats in the C5.

I like to wear a ball cap when driving with the top down to help keep the sun off my head and out of my eyes. Sometimes the wind wants to blow my hat off so a wind block helps prevent that.

Then there are times I have the top down and let the wind blow all around. It is nice to have all the different the options.

fresh air is coming right by the water fall ... even with the windows up ...cooling your right hand and your passenger left side. I was given a leather version which slides on top of the seats and prevent the wind to sneak down. it works, it really helps...without taking the convertible feeling away ...
note that I am in west Sweden and the air temp is hardly ever over 25°C (77°F) ....
my 2cts,

I don't think they made a factory one. If you ever want to get rid of it, let me know.
