Default Brake Performance Rotors

Over the past weekend, I replaced my OEM rotors with a set of slotted drilled rotors from Brake Performance. I'm now noticing a vibration in the steering wheel that wasn't there before. This is not during braking, just general driving. Starts about 75 MPH - 80 MPH, similar to an out of balance tire. It's my understanding that rotors are balanced out of the factory. Has anyone had this issue with Brake Performance, rotors in general - how did you rectify? Thanks in advance.

I did not change the pads - they were at about 70%. I've read a few things about changing pads - but what doesn't make sense to me is, how do pads affect anything when just driving at speed? I get braking - but not driving. The only way I figure a still good pad would cause issues is if the rotor is not true (possibly 'scraping' the pad), or the rotor out of balance. I'm not a brake expert, though...

Though the car didn't have issues before the rotor change - I think I'm going to balance the tires to see if that fixes the issues. Potholes all over Kansas highways...

Make sure you torqued the wheel nuts
correctly. Sounds like a loose nut.
Good luck

Brake pads in the C5 will became tapered over time. When they reach a certain point they will feel like the front wheel is loose or the bolts seems not tight enough. When you are in the last 25% of pad life is when they should be replaced as they transfer more heat to the rotors. HPDE, autocross, & canyon runners have all experience cracked rotors when going to long on old pads.

I'm sure the rotors are fine. Not sure why one would spend the money to replace rotors and use old pads...just to have slots and holes?? The clearance between the pad and rotor surface with your foot off the brake pedal is practically zero, you can hear the pad rub the rotor if you spin the wheel by hand. So, if they were not worn together there's gonna be some loving!

I have had them on 2 cars, 10 Challenger & 15 Cadillac ATS, and ni issues. But, I also put new matching pads on and bedded the brakes. I have their ceramic pads on my 17 Scat and no issues.

Thanks for the input - guess I'm off to replace pads this weekend!
