A guy in town has a low mile 6 speed for sale but I noticed the shift rod was still attached. I messaged him about buying the rod separately and he said sure, $50.00. It sounds reasonable to me, what do you guys think? I have no immediate need for it but I have been wanting to do the modification performed by nsogiba of cutting off the transmission end and welding in a steering shaft u joint to take out a bunch of slop in the shifting of the transmission.
I know that sometime in the future I will have to do a clutch and knowing me I will want to refresh the torque tube ect. I wish someone was doing this as a business or a side job as I have a welder but sketchy welding skills and currently don’t have a 220 outlet for the welder since I moved a year ago. Nsogiba said that having the torque tube and transmission on the ground allows for accurate measurements and making sure the modified rod doesn’t hit anything.
Im planning on a shifter upgrade at the same time to hopefully eliminate any slop in the shifter itself, probably a MGW.
