Default Some day!

Well, I saw my first c8 in person yesterday. It was a black one with dark tinted windows. It looked a little sinister. I really liked the car it self and who knows maybe I will get one someday!

Not me. I'd take that money and spend it on a c1 or c2. They don't make those anymore, and they look better.

I'm probably never going to get a C8, but my feeling is, I'll pass judgement when I see one in person. Which also may never happen in Flagstaff... They seem like a cool car with awesome performance, but I haven't warmed up to the looks, that being based on what I think it could have looked like. I can tell the new owners are super happy with it. I'm happy for them. I think I will go out to the garage and enjoy looking at my C5.....

My father, from whom I inherited my car guy genes, tells the story of an old Cadillac commercial he remembers from the 1950s. You see a kid playing in his yard in an upscale neighborhood. Interspersed with shots of the kid, you see a square-jawed, suit-wearing, clearly successful executive-type driving in his Cadillac. Eventually, Cadillac guy pulls into his circular driveway in front of his large, executive-level home, and goes inside, leaving the Cadillac parked in front of the house. Shot goes to the kid standing in the yard next door, the kid looking longingly, admiringly at the Caddy, and the kid whispers the word, “Someday.”

To this day, my father almost gets a tear in his eye when he tells it, and to him, a circular driveway is the epitome of showing the world you’ve made it. Oddly, he’s never owned a Cadillac – several Lincolns, a BMW, a Jag, but never a Cadillac.

So, yeah, “Someday” is a long-time and common refrain among us car guys.

I saw one back in early Feb.

Love it.

Luckily my C5 isn't worth much so when I get my used 2022 C8 in 2026 I can keep em both!!!

visited my dealer when GM paraded them around the county and showcased them. Cool car but very different from the corvette we know. I sat in it and crawled all over it LOL. Base price at 60K + ain't bad. Would love to drive one before passing judgement. I thought the C7 looked weird when it first came out and now I have owned 2 and still have my 17 GS.

I still love my C5 vert, no disappointments there! But in my humble opinion, and to my eyes, the most beautiful Corvette ever produced is a 1967 Big Block coupe with side exhaust and alloys. Preferably in black with the red stinger! I'll take the '67 over the C8 every time given the choice!

O'yeah, a C8 is definitely on my "want" list. It will be a few years before getting one though and I'll probably get rid of one of the C5s

If I ever get rid of my 02 Z, it will be for a C7 Z with a 7 speed. I’m sure the C8 is amazing, but I have no desire to drive an auto unless I’m driving my Caddy.

Have owned a few C2 66's loved them for over 30 years, then moved up to a C5 like to look at them and reminisce but would never buy another C2 over a C8. Next year I will replace the C5 with a C8 after they start producing them again and the stupidity in the pricing settles. Not 67 but liked the 66 better for the one reason I never hear----the stupid position of the hand brake--- girlfriends always got hurt getting around that thing

Maybe after my wife finishes her Nurse Practitioner program, and I go back to school for Engineering. Bet these things are going to be a real headache to keep running in 10 years without all those high-tech bits.

I'm with you. It should be illegal to have an auto vette! Automatics are ok for some things. Hell, my Peterbilt's got one and I love it. Not in a corvette, though.

Saw my first C8 out on the road a few weeks ago as I was coming home on I-70. Black exterior with an older gentleman driving it. Very cool profile going down the road and looked very wide in the back. Someday perhaps I will move to the C8, but not until the feeding frenzy settles down.

I wouldn't be surprised if I don't see one on the road until 2021.

Western Washington didn't even get a demo.

I actually live just a couple hours away from bowling green. I saw my first one on the highway near the factory before they launched on my way down to Nashville in February.
