Was a chrome bumper guy for many years, sold my 70 covert, it was killing me not seeing a vette in my grarage,
found a nice 2003 owned by a guy that lived in Park City , Utah , to munch snow only 27 k on the car, jumped at the deal, good to be back in a corvette again, number 5, some day I will buy one new no miles, if I live long enough
Four of my eight Corvettes were chrome bumper C3's. I sure miss the days when you only needed a box or wrenches or a socket set to fix anything. Welcome and good luck with your new ride.
Welcome back to the club. I'm sure you've already discovered how the C5 is just light years beyond what the C3 could have ever been, but there's something to be said for those chrome bumpers and curves too.
70-71 was the best of them. You are going to love the creature comforts of the C5 but will certainly miss the "raw personality" of that 70 vert.
Welcome to the C5 asylum. The last generation of the sensuously styled, sexy Vettes.
Had a 72 'T' with no A/C, no power windows/locks/seats, no computer(s), no electric issues, with a raw big Holly cam'ed engine. I wish future Vetts could be ordered without all these needless (IMHO) creature features.
Congrats on your C5! Terrific cars, loads of fun and far ahead of the C3's in just about everything. Having said that I do very much miss and regret having sold my completely optioned out '71 Ontario Orange 454, 4spd, that was quite a car!

I have to wholeheartedly agree with you on getting the job done with basic hand tools. Not having to deal with electronics, modules, computers and all manner of hard to find electronic components was a blessing, we just didn't know it until just lately. I'm still looking for a nice, very non electric/non computerized C2!
