Default Exhaust question

I'm about to get an aftermarket exhaust. So what is the difference between Borla Stingers and Borla XR-1? I want something very aggressive. Thanks

Default Re: Exhaust question (Adam B)

Borla XR1: you cut off the stock exhaust from the H-pipe back. The XR1 resonator/muffler goes in the center, then it is straight pipes back to the rear. Two 4in circle tips.

Borla Stinger: you unbolt the stock exhaust - only the two rear muffler sections. The Borla Stinger with one small inline muffler on each side. Same or similar two 4in circle tips.

I'd say the XR1 is a bit louder than the Stinger from what I have read, although I haven't heard them both. I love the XR1 on the coupe, and I can only say it will sound insane on the Z. If you want something "very aggressive," the XR1 is a better choice. You might also want to look into the SLP Loudmouth, there are always one or two for sale in the Parts for Sale section. It is basically a straight pipe that removes both rear mufflers, just unbolt the old and bolt these on.
