I want to change my Prestone coolant and begin to use the EVAN'S coolant becuase my coolant temp is soooo hot (220-225) in a 110 degree days!!
And I'm not happy with those numbers...
Just want to know if somebody has experience with this products...
Your car doesn't use "Prestone." It uses "Dexcool", and it's required to maintain warranty coverage. The first coolant change with Dexcool actually isn't required until after the warranty expires - five years or 150K miles.
Your temps are normal for hot weather stop and go drivng, and some snakeoil coolant is not going to make them better. If you want to run cooler in hot weather stop and go driving, there are ways to engage the fans earlier. Without the A/C on they don't switch on until about 227 F.
I run Evan's coolant in my LT5. it will not lower your temps. It is designed to avoid "hot spots", and steam pockets (no water) in ultra high compression engines (14-1 compression Pro-Stock motors). It has a very high boiling point, but will not lower your overall temps.
Your best bet to do that is Distilled water and Red Line Water Wetter (1+1/2 bottles), and a low temp Thermostat (160deg.?) :yesnod:
Yes, it works with coolant. Depending on your need for freeze protection I would use as little coolant, and the most distilled water as possible. For more info check out Red Line lubricants website.
It needs to be said again. The best way to cool your temps is to change the fan "ON" setting or just get a cooler thermostat..........it is that easy. A different coolant will NOT do it.
Today, I did a flush in the car with a AC Delco flusher and after that I put 3 bottle of Redline water wetter together with a quater of Prestone coolant and filled with water the DRM big radiator...
Then I drove the car normal in the street with A/C on and the temp were in 205 range...
In 6 months ago doing the same driving like I did at moment ago the temp just raised to 190 or less...
What happen in my case??
I change the thermostat already and put the Hypertech 160 degree one....
I really need help!!
Any recomendation for me would help, thank in advance!!

The thing is why a year ago the car in same wheater condition and same everything, we are talking about 30 F difference....
For example, a 6 months ago in a 110 F day the engine had the temp like 200, now, in same 110 F, the engine show 225-230...
So why, we need to cut here and modify there in the fans and goodies to fix this problem??????
Also the fan is kicked on at 180 F already....
