So, to make sure I do as Toby Keith’s song opined, I jumped into my C5 triple black Vert and took one hour ride today with the top down, windows down, and no music so I could enjoy the sound of the Vette along with the wind to help make this soon to be 77 year old think about being 22 again that is the age of my first go fast car, a 1965 triple black 442.
I was just thinking about this today, that the C5 is the first car I have consciously looked forward to getting in and driving. I've had Mustangs, a GTO and a 95 Camaro (dual autocross toy) but the C5 is different. It's effortless in everything it does and sounds great with the cam and Corsa (IMO).
Good to see you still enjoying it at 77! Hell I'll be 35 in July and I look forward to many more years of C5 ownership and Corvettes in general.
Did the same thing today but did have some music, top down so couldn't hear it sometimes! At age 70 hearing is shot anyway, but I can hear the exhaust and read the tach!! Not done yet!!
Was 82 and bright sunshine today here in SE Pennsylvania so took a ride - with the top down - over to a buddy's house to see his new 2020 Corvette. Listened to the Cars and Bob Seger. Although my car is very nice, almost perfect, what a car the C8 is...Wish I could afford one...

The wife has a new Audi A4. It’s a really nice car, but it’s nothing like the Vette. Being locked up, I’ve been going out for drives in the Vette, but when my battery died last week, I did my therapy cruise in the A4, and it was boring. I wasted no time getting a new red top battery and resumed my Vette therapy cruises.
Sounds like a terrific and fun drive! Some may disagree but I think a drop top down ride on a beautiful day, running through the gears, listening to the exhaust note coming out of the BB Bullets and some great tunes makes for an exceptional experience. A while ago took just that trip from E Texas over to Shreveport Louisiana for Chinese food in top down mode. The food was great, the driving experience exceptional, gotta love it!
