The coil packs are ugly and I imagine don't provide the optimum spark. So, does anyone know who makes a nice hp adding alternative? Also, I want some nice polished or chrome valve covers. Any suggestions? Will be doing heads, cam, rockers, rods and springs in the near future.
Modern ignition systems are very well designed. The primary motivation is emissions performance, and once you light the fire more ignition energy is not going to improve power, so there are no functional performance benefits to alternative ignition systems or components despite the marketing claims.
Katech is supposed to have a new set of LS1/LS6 covers with remote coilpack mounting brackets soon. I was told a "mock-up" set would be shown @ the Indy trade show. Their old style is no longer available ..according to Katech...Although I still see them for sale on websites. Wait and see.
:iagree:
He's right, we have 8 freakin' coils, we have one of the best systems in the world, colder plugs if you run hard is about the only change recommended.
