I've dreamed about putting these seats in a C5!

So the seatbelt female latches can just be transferred from the old C5 seat and the seatbelts are good to go? No clearance issues with the center tunnel?

You’ll also need to trim back this part as well (angle cut in bottom right of photo). This mod will allow the seats to clear the “rolled up” part of the car’s lower seatbelt mechanism.

Also, you’ll have to decide if the airbags prevent the seats from going back as far as you need. Mine go back far enough for my needs. I still have maybe 1 3/4 “ left behind the seats. If I move them further back, the side airbags begin to push against the car’s plastic trim that conceals the seat belts.
Can the airbags just be gutted/removed? Is there seat material underneath the airbag compartment or is there a hole that would need to covered?

Any links to the posts for wiring up these seats? Or better yet, can these seats be bolted onto the C5 tracks? I'd really like to retain all power and memory functionality.

Also, is the C7 flag near the top of the seats molded in or just a decal that could potentially be removed?

TIA

Question on function of the side airbags. Will they function now? Do our cars have sufficient sensors for side impact? How was this wired? Or is it vestigial?

I've got a set of those in my . . . well, my C7 . . . and have have daily driven it for a few years. Excellent seats that are comfortable and hold you in securely. Light years ahead of C5 seats. I have considered buying a set to install in my C5. They are VERY expensive.

Yikes!

Another idea might be to buy a base pair of c7 seats (now that we know it can be done) and convert them over to competition via the aftermarket services that provide this.

The base c7 seats aren't too crazy on eBay now.

Those seats are $2k and the conversion from trunkmonkey is $1900. I paid $2500 shipped for these seats in damn near perfect condition. Just have to wait for the right deal to come along..

Very cool mod and the seats look great in your car. I would encourage you to do a write up of the install for others to refer to should they decide to try this.

I did the same in my car. Picked up a set of 1LT seats for $700. I absolutely love them. Still have some trimming to do but all the C5 belt pieces transferred over.

Do you have pics of your lower seatbelt area? I'm curious what the clearance is like..

I removed the airbags to sell them. Since the car didn't come with them, it really wasn't a big deal for me...plus the correct wiring would be a nightmare. Selling them will allow me to recoup some of the cost of the seats as well..

Man I would GLADLY pay someone to install these for me.

I'm about to re-do the stock seats with new foam and aftermarket covers, but would instead go for C7 seats in a blink! The C5 seats are the only thing I do not like about the car. Approximately zero support .

Only problem for me is I need em in mod red....
