Default Window tint removal

Bought an 04 Z with dark tinted windows I have an exemption in Indiana through my Dr but want to remove door tint. Any ideas on how to do it? It was done professionally. I am between Cincy and Indy

The pros that install the tint are your best bet.

I had all the tint remove and redone lighter by my professional tint guy. He used a heat gun and scraping to get the old stuff off, then some type of cleaner (acetone?) to get glass perfect clean. He knew all the tricks an got it done quickly.

I removed my side window tint myself. Waited for a 90+ degree day, let the car bake, then just used my fingernail to start the tint. Came off all in one piece on each door. Was a breeze. I paid someone with a steamer to remove the rear tint though.

They sell some specific solvent that you can spray on the film that helps remove it. I used this, along with a hair dryer to warm the film up, and it peeled right off.

I have used 409 with ammonia in it. Really almost any cleaner with ammonia in it will work. Spray the whole window down and then stick a trash bag split open on it. Leave in sun for about 20 or 30 mins. It usually just peals right off because the ammonia releases the glue. There are videos on it as others have said. This works great on glass with defroster lines in it so you don't damage your defroster.

Steamer.
My wife's Mazda CX-5 that we bought used came with some pretty dark tint, and we removed it all ourselves (4 side windows + rear window). Wasn't too bad, but that car is a 2016 so the tint was only 4 years old at most.

I'm gonna attempt DIY tinting on my C5Z and 2001 S4. My 01 C5Z appears to have light tint on the front windows and a slightly purple tint on the back window. Who knows how long the tint has been there, it may take more effort.

I'm curious to know the reasons you guys are "removing" the glass tint from the glass... Tint not such a good idea?... Too lite or too dark? .. Dose it fade or scratch or peel?... Should we not do tint?

Any of the above are reasons why.
On my C5, the side window tint does show a little damage, and I'll be going slightly darker.

In MD I had to have the tint removed in order to pass the state inspection. Too dark.
Some counties have inspections and others do not. Bought it from an owner who lived in a no inspection county.
