Hello everyone I’m new to the forum as I just purchased my first corvette. I have a question even though I have been doing some research I could not find anything. My car has the current exhaust system and I plan on getting a either borla atak exhaust or a b&b bullet in the future but for now I don’t wanna spend that amount of cash on a exhaust. I found the borla straight pipes and realized isn’t that the same as a muffler delete? Will I lose HP with a muffler delete?

I would guess a muffler delete might gain ya a HP or two. I have the B&B Bullets on my 02, love them.

Consider buying a used catback here on the forum - check out the classified ads. A name brand catback (Corsa, B&B, Borla, etc.) come up for sale often and you can realize a significant savings over buying new. On my last C5 I ran a Corsa Indy Pace Car (now the Sport) and loved the quality and exhaust note.
I have had BB Bullets on my C5 for several years. At that time I found them to be very nicely priced compared to the competition. Over several years of use I have had zero issues with their cat back, lots of compliments on exhaust tone. There is a drone at lower rpm that some find objectionable, but doesn't bother me. They are loud when you hit the go pedal hard but sound like a performance car should, just me opinion.
Anyone? Also I can’t find anything on flowmaster super 10s anyone run these on the c5?
I tried running those on my c5 but my exhaust guy said that they wouldn’t work because the inlet and outlet has to be on the same side if the muffler, if that makes sense.
Yea the b &b bullets sound nice as for the super 10 I currently run those on my trailblazer ss and they are super aggressive. I’m sure if you install a one inlet one outlet after axle like a muffler delete but weld the super 10s on there the super 10s can work I don’t understand why that muffler shop would not install them.
I have a 2001 base model with the Borla ATAK, I can send you a video of it revving if you're interested. I like it a lot, it has no drone at highway speeds, plenty of loudness at high RPMs, and some burbles when downshifting or letting the clutch out. It is a bit pricey though. The exhaust tips are also a bit more rounded on the Borla which I think looks nicer than stock. I would not recommend a muffler delete, the previous owner had done one when I got the car and it is very loud, not in a good way, and has lots of drone.

If you haven't seen this before, it's Borla's video capturing the sounds from their 3 different exhaust system offerings on a C5.
The ATAK is the most aggressive and loudest of the Borla line. My brother in law has it on his LS3 Camaro with headers and a catless x-pipe. It is loud as hell. Too much for me. I run the Borla S-Type single outlet on my car. For some reason it's half the price of the S-type dual exit. I couldn't justify an extra $600 in my mind to have 4 tips instead of 2, so that's what I went with. It's super mellow when cruising, drones a little between 1100-1300 rpm and opens up nicely when you are on it. Something I learned with my LS1 Camaro is that on the stock engine, exhaust sounds very different than with a modified engine. I had a Loudmouth exhaust on that car, and then when I put the cam in it, it was god awful and I had to change to something else.
Yea I had a 2010 camaro ss with borla a type and they sound very good but for this car I think ima have to look at the atak I live in California and will not touch the cats so I might have to wait and come up on a used atak system there is no way I’m spending 1200 plus on a new axle back

I recently installed the Borla ATAK exhaust on my supercharged 2000 Corvette C5. At that time, I also installed Flowtech headers and a Flowtech X-pipe. I love the sound. Best of all, there is no drone (unlike the B&B PRT exhaust on my other previously owned C5, which had an irritating drone at a specific RPM).
