Is your can an automatic or stick shift car? If it's a stick, don't worry about it. Downshifting, during normal driving, temporarily creates a small amount of vacuum in the combustion chamber, which, in turn, draws a tiny bit of oil past the piston rings and into the chamber, where it's burned off. Depending on how much you drive, again, if it's a "stick", that quart will "disappear" over time....

I have been tracking my car for ten years. I always run it 1/2 quart above full at the track, as measured a minute or less after shutdown . In addition my car takes at least 6 3/4 quarts to measure full using the same measuring criteria.
