Default New Vette Weekend

Hello gang. Here’s a more formal introduction of my new ‘98 droptop. I was a C4 owner for 7 years until I reached the decision that I wanted a convertible. This car is a 53,000 mile two-owner car which enticed me enough to make an 8-hour + round trip. Purchased as she sits for $12k. I have removed the tail lamp louvers and the aftermarket steering wheel emblem.

Very nice. Hope it works out for you as well as my '99 has. I purchased it 2 1/2 yrs ago for $12.5 with 53K miles as well.
Love that it's a convertible.

Have you checked? There's something up with their alignment.

I’m pretty sure the left is on the right and vice versa. I need an Allen bit to remove them which has been lost from my set so I have to pick one up.

the C5 mufflers are right & left only.

The way they mount, they can't be swapped by mistake so I'm curious to see what you find (I'm still betting on the clamps)

Looks good. I've had my '98 for a little over 13 years now and have loved it everyday.

Congrats! My 1st C5 was a 98 triple black vert. That car is still in the family. My sister bought it for her husband when he came back from Iraq in 2005. It's still a great car mid 40k miles.

What's with the "LS1" emblem - that's legit GM?

I’m saying that the aftermarket tips are mounted wrong.

No, they are not. They were on the car when I bought it. I’m usually a 100% stock all the way kind of guy, but I love those.

Wash/polish clothes on the ground will transfer grit onto the painted surface thereby causing non-removable scratches from the clear coat... Bad practice there peaches!

I wasn’t cleaning the body with those. You aren’t dealing with kids here. 😏 Those were removing dirt from wheel wells and other non-painted places. My body cloths are in a Tupperware in the garage.
