Default Question about headers

Has anyone on the forum here actually installed the CARB legal shorty headers that you can run in California? If so, did they make much of a difference? I've installed headers on many of my other rides, and full length headers make an obvious difference, but I am uncertain that the shorty headers will make much if any difference. So I figured I would ask if anyone on here has used them, and what they thought. Any input would be appreciated. Oh, by the way, my combo is a stock ls1, with an A&A Vortech 3Si and a 3.8 pulley and Magnaflow cat back exhaust.
