So I took my 98 C5 to the transmission shop as I am having a built trans and rear diff put in, well they made the obvious mistake they lowered the engine down enough to brake a plastic piece that is now leaking vacuum the way he described it was not the actual intake but a vacuumed fitting. They don’t know what the part is called or a part number. Can you guys help me out. I am already bummed. I use to turn a wrench and I know better as even old chevys had the distributor you had to be careful. Since they have to pull the intake should I replace it with a ls6 intake and if so will I be able to drive it before a tune? I plan on taking in for a tune but I have to get home first is why I ask.
Any idea what the part is and/or part number? I know I need a better shop but I belong to our local corvette club who had nothing but good things about them but dam😢

either get a new intake or jb weld the fitting back on... as far as I know there isn't a part number for that piece, you can get a cheap donor intake that still has the piece intact and swap it but it is not an easy task and I'm not sure I would trust them with that
Hmmm... Given that the shop broke your intake when they lowered the engine, They should be looking for a new intake for you - their cost, not yours. If it is the nipple on the back of the intake that the HVAC vacuum hose attaches to, As Neutron said, it probably can be JB Welded and be just fine. If you went that route, i would definitely be inspecting the rest of the intake for cracking or damage.
Here is a picture of the rear of the manifold with the piece that is broken.
One vacuum line goes to the brake booster and the other supplies the HVAC vacuum supply.
All depends on whats broke and where it is broken as whether I would try and repair it.
