Tell me about your shifter? My eyes are not what they used to be but it looks non-stock?
(not meaning to hijack the thread, I like the wheel also, I'm 6'3" and hate trying to make it under the wheel sometimes.
I will try to take a more recent picture than 3 and a half years ago. I have a SS. shift
plate and the shift ball is custom made ( I guess the plate was too now that I think about it)
I am tall like you and the stock steering wheel was a pain slideing under. It is much easier getting in and out of
the vette, now.
Yours looks like the color is different, and it looks like the top has regular leather instead of alcantara. Maybe it's just the light. I would love to see a more recent pic. Thanks.
I like this A LOT! This one seems a bit more to my taste than the OP's Exactly which options did you choose?
My steering wheel is alot different than the OP's.
I bought my steering wheel complete with the bag. Now according
to Redline you must put it together and use your old bag. It looks like
I got a better deal in the past. I got a complete steering wheel and I have my old
steering wheel. Redline offered to buy my wheel for $50, I declined.
I hope that helps .
Yeah it does, thanks. Unfortunately it sounds like the wheel you have isn't really available anymore. One of the reasons that I really like yours is that the bag seems to match the outer portion of the wheel so much better.

Is the center airbag also leather or is the OEM vinyl airbag? What's the difference between the one Redline included and your original one. My understanding is the $50 core replacement is only for the outside wheel section and not the airbag section which is reusable.

I think the darker black alcentra on the OPs wheel is what throws it off. I just ordered one from Redlines Goods and I opted for a Black leather top and bottom and the Charcoal Perforated leather on the sides. I also added a red leather center stripe at the top. Lead time is 8-12 weeks.
I already have an aftermarket D-shaped steering wheel but have been wanting to swap it out as I made some additional mods of my original mods.
MSGC5...
My new air bag surface is leather. When I ordered mine, I could chose
the leathers and the entire steering wheel was ordered (and included a stripe
if I wanted one). I paid $700, for a complete custom steering wheel. Redline
made a high quality product for me. It did take a LONG time to build but the results
were worth it.
Yeah, I might still consider it, but I greatly prefer the look of the leather over the bag like road pilot has. I find that the vinyl in the center with the leather around it just doesn't look quite right. I see that Redline says they can do full custom orders. Perhaps if I talk to them, they can make what I want.
My steering wheel was done by Redline, also. Nothing fancy but it's much nicer than the original wheel was. The latter had a custom cover that had worn completely through in some spots, on the top.
Before:
Looks great! I’m still holding out for a smaller diameter airbag retaining option personally.
I’ve found, for me anyway, that once you really start tapping into the cars potential the size of the wheel becomes an issue. Again, just me personally. A lot of it has to do with the ratio as well.
It could be a trick of the angle, but the flat bottom one does looks smaller. Did you happen to measure them?

Finally got a picture of the shifter and plate.
My shifter and plate. It looks alittle more custom.
do you know who the mfg of the bottom one please..
have been searching, only see one possibility who it might be
thanks
I'm not sure as I copied the photos from a prior post indicating they were for sale on e-Bay. My guess is they are from Redline Goods as I have a similar, flat bottom steering wheel on order with them. The sides will be perforated dark charcoal leather and the top/bottom will be black leather. The top will also have a red center stripe. Ordered first week in July and they currently have a 8-12 week production cycle so I'm expecting it by the end of September. I will then be selling my flat-bottom steering wheel originally sourced through DSV (Vette Candy). A very nice wheel, but the gray leather never matched up directly with my Vette Essentials gray leather trim because it was designed as a direct match to the OEM gray leather & carpet.
