2003 z51?
so for a 2003 z51 6 speed what gears should it have? Drove a base yesterday is the z51 that notable difference (one i am interested in is a convertible if that makes a difference)

3:42 rear gear I believe. At any reasonable speed there is no difference.. I do believe at the very top end the vert will give up a bit of speed, but not much, and I think I can safely say that probably 99% of C5 owners have never explored the all out top end of their cars. Just my opinion.

There were no other options for gear than 3.42 for manuals; automatic is another story...I believe autos had longer gear (numerically less). This is because of the ratios in automatics.

All manual tranny cars, regardless of whther base or Z06, had 3.42 rear gearing.
