Default C2105

Good afternoon,

I am having a pesky issue with the Tire Pressure Monitor sensor on my 2003 corvette convertible 50th anniversary edition manual transmission . The Code is C2105 which is Tire Pressure Monitor sensor malfunction ( right front ). It's displaying Service Tire Monitor System in my dashboard. I brought it to a local shop about three weeks ago and they were able to fix it (or so I thought) because the error message wasn't being displayed anymore on my dashboard. However, three weeks later the code appeared again. I am reluctant to go back to the local shop because I think what they probably did was just reset the code and not necessarily fix the problem. I don't want to try the chevy dealer because of their high diagnostic fees in general. Could someone please explain how to fix it? If I buy the TPS sensor for the right front tire and have it installed will this resolve the issue? Additionally, If a buy the TPS sensor do I need a special tool to activate it? I have the tool for the corvette wheel which allows to synchronize all four tires. The one that allows the wheel to chirp but I understand this is for a different situation. This is extremely frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the battery in the sensor is dying. Just an FYI, the other three may not be too far behind. Might be best to have four new sensors installed. Just MO.

But is it a matter of just buying a new sensor and have it installed? I was told that the new sensor needs to be activated. Not sure what that means.

Some sensors may have to be initially programmed to a vehicle, IIRC. Most all tire shops have that ability.
I personally have not had an issue buying sensors online for my family cars, having them installed at a tire shop and using a reset tool to "beep" them myself to work. GMs are relatively easy, Ford's procedure sucks.
