Default Ugh!!! Guessing this is a door ding.

Went out to enjoy a nice glass of wine and charcuterie tray at a local winery. I was nice enough to park on the end spot which left 1.25 space for the next car over if someone desired to park next to me. Fast forward an hour or so and I follow out a younger “large” couple to the parking lot. Low and behold he parked his fat *** truck next to the vette. Not only did they park past the line that separated the cars he had the ******* nerve to rub his *** up against the vette. Now I am pretty upset but I don’t want to make a scene so I drive away without looking at the side of the door. Pictures show some damage but very had to tell. Is that from a door dinge? Can it be fixed with some elbow grease?

I know it is just a car but some people are just rude and don’t give 2 ***** about other people’s stuff.

Some people have no respect for other people’s property. You are more reserved than I think I would have been.

I feel your pain. Happens to me all the time. I always took some pride in my vocabulary but thanks for making me look up charcuterie. I probably could have guessed what it was based on the context but totally unfamiliar with the word.

Aw man! Sorry to see that. People just don't care anymore. You MIGHT be able to buff that out. It's hard to tell in the pictures how deep it is. If it didn't get all the way through the clear coat, you should be good. I wish you the very best of luck. I would have stopped the guy and demanded his insurance and contact info. Even if it can buff out, he should pay for the detailing. If there are financial consequences, maybe the guy will be more careful next time.

Stop drinking... Or leave the important C5 at home when around drinking folks... They're not trusted around nice Corvettes and will ruin your day.

Ouch. Not sure if that will buff out. That chip will definitely not buff out.
I feel your pain. People don't give a chit about other's property. I once got notified by a girlfriend's neighbor that kids were using my 02 Corvette's hood as a slide I immediately went out and sure enough these damn kids were on my hood. They knew they were doing wrong because as soon as the kids seen me, they took off running. That hood slide cost me $500 as they scratched the paint down through the base coat. Another example was at a car show. My girlfriend and I enjoy going to car shows and when there we park and go look at other cars. When we got back, another car show participant told us they yelled at some kids hanging off my Lambo doors. Damn, as a kid my Dad would have punished me if I put a single fingerprint on another's car. What happened to respect?

It always amazes me that when I park carefully, i.e. look for an end spot or one where there's maybe a little more width to the spot than others, that some moron will park close to the line or,
in this case, over the line and into YOUR spot... People don't realize that there's more to a tiny ding than touching it up with after market paint that never matches. Or worst, having to pay someone to refinish the door panel and worrying if the paint will match. Not to mention the cost... These two are obviously idiots that don't give a sh$%t about their car or anyone else's...
I can just see them swinging the door open and not worrying where it ends up. Real *** wipes...

Kids grow up today allowed to do whatever they want these days and you are a mean abusive parent if you reprimand them.

In that second photo of yours, it almost looks like there is some crazing going on in the center of the shot.

As far as the chip goes, Dr. Colorchip has worked well for me.

The Dr Colorchip stuff is pretty great. Even the smallest kit will cover hundreds of little nicks like that.

I picked up some touch-up paint and will be doing a full detail over the fall/winter. Right now I am just trying to enjoy the car and have fun. Oh trust me my kids learned to respect the cars and others. They get the pleasure of vacuuming out and spraying new car smell weekly in all the cars.
