So I have a 2004 Vert. This morning I took a drive with the top down. When I arrived at my destination and went to put the top up, I noticed that the weather strip that is on the convertible hatch (that the top comes down on top of) had come loose on both sides. I left the top down in my garage overnight, and I think the heat may have caused the adhesive to fail. However, even if I could reattach it, I feel like I should replace it. I did a quick google search, and I'm having trouble finding this particular piece. Does anyone have a link to where I can find a replacement? Does anyone have the OE part #? Thanks!
The decklid weatherstrip seals the decklid to the body. This is not what I need. I need the strip that seals the decklid to the convertible top. There is a weatherstrip that goes along the bottom of the convertible top frame(don't need to replace this) that meets a piece of weatherstrip on top of the decklid(this is what I need).

Chris, I really appreciate your help. However, the convertible top rear bow weatherstrip is the one that attaches to the bottom of the convertible top frame. This is also not the piece that I need. I need the piece that the convertible top rear bow weatherstrip meets up with when the top is up..
So I have continued my search, and I have still had no luck. I even found a diagram with the part numbers for each weather strip EXEPT for the one I need. I see that most of the replacement weather strips (that are NOT the ones I need) are over $100.00. I can replace my entire tonneau cover with a used one with the weather strip for the same price! However, that seems VERY extreme. At this point I'm considering just going to autozone and picking up a roll of the correct width weather stripping for $10-$15. I don't like to cheep out when it comes to my Vette though. However, I'm not really finding any alternative. What do you guys think would be the best solution at this point?

Is this what you are looking for?

Sorry, for some reason my copy and paste link below for Ecklers shows up in my view of my post when I tacked it below, but appears not to work from this site (which abbreviates it). So perhaps you'll need to search Ecklers for that part.
It sounds as though it is just the adhesive that holds it down is the problem - you have not indicated that there is anything wrong with the strip itself. The end of mine on my '99 on the driver's side also came loose. I initially tried 3M foam double-side tape but that tended to fail periodically (due to heat I would suspect). I ended up using some sort of glue but can't remember what kind (it's been several years).

This shows the piece I'm looking for as well as the issue. As you can see, in addition to not being well attached the strip no longer goes all the way to the edge of the panel.

Thanks, I did look at this. It's not actually the weather strip. It's a protector that installs behind it to protect the deck lid from the top. It's an aftermarket add on. I really appreciate your trying to help though.

No, I don't think so. I think this part at Eckler's is the replacement for the stock piece. It specifies the OEM part number (10338751) and a search for that gets a lot of hits from the OEM parts suppliers (and usually less expensive than Eckler's). Not sure why yours appears to have shrunk (or the end has broken off?) so it appears you do need to replace it.
I know the aftermarket protector you are thinking of as I considered getting one when my top started rubbing on the painted surface and wore through the paint in a couple of spots. On the early year models, the soft strip on the bottom of the top was not quite thick enough (or compressed too much) and allowed for the rubbing. Later year models had an improved strip that eliminated the rubbing and I installed one of those. I used touch-up paint to repair the worn spots and then got the whole car repainted a few months ago:

Glad the problem was solved, and you were able to save some $$$. Post up pics when installed.

Thanks for pics. I have a vert too and I’m always looking to learn.
Do you think it’s short because it was stretched upon initial installation?

I'll find out for sure when I get the new one. However. it has the same issue on both sides. I noticed that it had "shrunk" long before it came completely unattached. The strip itself is pretty dried out, so I think that may be the reason I'll have more pics once I've installed the new one.
