Hi to all,
I am new to the LS world and haven't had a Corvette in many years, now
I have a 82 82 87 97 2000 (it is a long story).
Just finished a LS3 from a 2012 GS into my 97. Real happy with the
swap. It took me about two years to finish as I had to do it as I had the
time and money. The LS3 is mostly stock with a larger TB, Kooks
headers and xpipe and a few extra additions. It has 416 HP at the
wheels. I was happy with those numbers. Still have some problems
to solve. It has been a fun project.
Next I am planning a LS build for the 2000 conv. I will be aiming ing
for about 550-600 at the flywheel. Will keep you posted.
Curious on what you put in the 2012 GS
If you want the best bang for the buck for your 2000, the A&A supercharger kit is the way to go. My black 99 has one (has a few other mods too) and I'm getting 620 hp at the flywheel
Hi
Thanks for the responses as I said I am new to the LS field. I learned a lot doing the Ls3 swap but have a lot to learn yet.
I brought the Ls3 off Amazon about 6 years ago, it has been sitting in my garage waiting for a home.
I will think about the AA SC. I have to be somewhat careful as it has an Auto which I just had rebuilt to handle 600HP.
I am also building AZ n 82 resto mod. I built a 486hp and 487tq 383 chev for it. That car is about 6 months out after that is done I will start on the 2000 conv.

I second the A&A...I do not actually know the crank HP....it has 494rwhp though...(mustang dyno)...Anybody know the actual crank vs rwhp on our c5s...mine is an auto
Mwwarlord my 2000 looks just yours. It is getting repainted now. That is the one I am going to build a new engine for.
Hitman 396 you have a twin to my 97, the one i just finished putting the LS3 into. It is a six speed manual.
I have been into cars for most of my life. I also have a 1968 ElCamino with a 600hp 454 backed up by a Richmond 5 speed into a Currie 9in rear, a 84 Blazer, that I brought new, it now has a 454, 400 turbo, 205 transfer case with 3/4 ton diffs, a 1973 Pont Grand Am with a mild 400 400 turbo trans along withs several others. Years ago I had a big block 4 speed 1969 Vette, boy I should have kept that one.
Thanks again to all. Looking forward to becoming an active member.

You are looking at about 620 hp if you factor in losing 20% for an automatic tranny. (15% for a 6-speed)
Hi
just dropped it off to get the A/C auctuators replaced. It will be at least a couple of weeks to get it back. It was a pretty easy swap, just bolt it into the carriage and kick it up. Wiring wasn't to bad extensions are available make it ease. If you know what you are doing ws which I didn't.
As i said it runs strong with 415 at the wheels from an almost stock LS3. The LS1 had a ws hole in the side of the block. Once we got it running found the 3 to 4 shift was messed up. Replaced the whole t56 with one from RPM.

20% drive train loss....Wow....That's a decent amount. That would bring me to 593 crank hp....Was there something else factored in as you mentioned 620??
