finishing up my install today.. running an amp for the new speakers and one of these for the subs (I had two of them sitting on my shelf from a previous install, seemed a shame not to use one):
How do you guys physically secure amps / etc to the floor? The amp I think is pretty straightforward, it's small enough that a strip of Velcro will tie it to the carpet (I did the same thing in my '67 vette, didn't want to put holes in the floor). The sub is a different beast .. I'm probably going to mount it standing up, in which case it's a little top heavy, I'll kind of have to screw it into the rear panel cover..
Anyway, any thoughts/suggestions on how you've done it.. looking for something clver I didn't think of that obviates the need to put holes in the floor.
What kind of C5 you have, coupe, hardtop, or convertible?
That sub is too fat for under or behind the seat option. If it was a coupe, I'd fasten it down in the big cubby hole (center compartment) firing upward. The cabin design of the C5 really enhances the output of the subwoofer.

Vert.
But look at what I'm using for the sub. it's a stand alone, self contained unit. I have to secure it to the floor somehow. It fits pretty well standing up straight, on the removeable cargo cover (I could mount it laying down as well). I'm really asking for "how," not "where.." I.e., the only way I can see of reasonably securing it is to drill holes in the center cargo cover, and bolt the unit down. Any other thoughts?
For the amp, I plan on putting it right behind the waterfall, and using industrial velco (I know it sounds cheezy, but the amp weighs about 8 pounds, I did this in my c2 to avoid drilling holes... it works surprisingly well).

I removed the carpeting and epoxy'ed a hardboard to the bulkhead and then screwed the amp into the hardboard. I cut a hole for the amp put the carpeting around it so the carpeting somewhat helps secure the board in place (secondary to the expoxy)
I have a vert also and was planning on a similar set up. Dont see why you cant use the loop part of heavy-duty velcro tape and stick it to the bottom of the sub and to the carpet right behind the seats in the cubby areas right in the middle. It should hold. Thats my plan for both the amp and sub.

Right.. that's what I did for the Rockford fosgate amp in my '67 … and the small rocville slim subwoffer. That's what I'm leaning towards doing here.. that'll work for the amp, not sure it'll be strong enough for the infinity basslink.
I like the idea of installing some hardwood, then fixing it to that. You can even use brackets of some sort, to make it easily removable. I doubt hook & loop tape will hold the weight of the subwoower...but you can look into bungy or straps or something
