I think I've seen a wagon version of the vette for every version up to the c6.. I got it in the 60s/70s gen, they were creating a go-fast version of the bel aire, but now.. I just don't see it. But to each their own, and I'm sure it took and insane amount of work and ingenuity.
There are a LOT of vehicles out there that "why?" is the appropriate reaction to. My submission is the whole Lexus line where they spoiled good looking vehicles with butt ugly front grilles. And Toyota is not far behind in that regard, with its "gaping maw" designs. Despite admiring the engineering and reliability, I did not consider any of their vehicles when we were looking for a new long distance "luxo barge". Modern cars don't need huge grilles, we are not in the 1950's any more.
Fast "wagons" were a thing in Europe back in the '60's, and '70's. The original was the Scimitar GTE (look it up), and then a version of the Volvo P1800. There were prototypes around of both Austin Healey 3000 and Sunbeam Tiger "wagons", plus a couple of Aston Martin wagons got built. Later on, a limited production run of Jag XJS wagons.

Well, in addition to Corvettes, I love a good wagon/touring/estate/shooting brake - just love the idea of a hot rod wagon. So, I like this . . . although I would just have preferred a shooting brake conversion using the standard C5 styling, no need to make it evoke a '53 or a Nomad. Got a good look at a Callaway Aerowagen C7 at a show last Fall and loved it.

I could get on board with this one, the C5 one, not so much.

How funny, the weiner mobile was in my town tonight at a new hot dog stand. Never seen it in person before but all I gotta say is "man that's one huge weiner"
