What is the best double din dash replacement for a C5 ? There's a lot out there but I have black interior and the new dash looks very dull. Anyone know which one matches the interior perfect ?
if you can find it, even a used one from DDmods (he's MIA these days) is a good option .. he had all sorts of options, he leather wrapped mine. Too bad he's not around anymore.
Apsis also sells a leather wrapped DD. Their quality is top - notch, but pricey.
VetteNuts had a sale a few months ago that brought the price down to closer to $300 so I pulled the trigger. It is quite nice, fits well, and matches very well. I like that it includes the "cup holder" cover as that is where I store my garage door opener so it is nice to be able to close it. It also allows you to use the cup holder clip from Vette Clips to actually make it a functional cup holder. It looked so much better than the one it replaced that it made my console look really tattered (and after 20 years and 82,000 miles, it was), so I ended up finding a new (used) console.
Or get the Metra and one of the leather covers on eBay.

most of that stuff on ebay is absolute crap anyway. imho, if you're going to do it.. do it right.

The Metra can be painted with SEM texture coating and then landau black for a much better factory match. SEM tech support is great walking you through how to apply both products.
I've had both bezels (VettNuts and Metra) and both have their advantages. In the end I preferred how the Metra fits around the double din head unit. Their DD opening is better defined (my opinion). I was all set to paint my Metra bezel for proper texture etc, but am now leaning towards the Joying unit that utilizes the OEM bezel.

If you don't mind paying. Apsis is hands down the best. You really can't beat their quality. I just got their door panels, and llan on getting my entire dash leather wrapped by them.
the obvious third option is a used piece for about $175, and cut the thin bar separating the two areas . This is what people were doing for years before other parts came on the market.
