Hey everyone, this has been bugging me for awhile now. I do not like the gap between the fender and tire front and back. I would love to lower the car more to get a better looking stance. I’m lowered all the way in the rear and I haven’t touched the front since I got 4 years ago. I was at a car meet the other day, and a guy pulled up with a C5 and he is lowered all the way around and looks good, a maximum of two fingers. I would like to go after market but I don’t wanna bottom out my brand new shocks. Coil-Overs is not even a option right now. What are your thoughts and suggestion?
Holy Cow.. I was looking at all the mods you have already
done and I was surprised you have not lowered to date.
Get some lowering bolts and have at it. Your ride will be
a little stiffer but not enough to worry about.. If you slam
your vette ,it will be a more harsh ride.
Good luck
Home Depot.... Lowe's.... Ace... Menard's... McMaster Carr. Pick your poison. My local hardware stores didn't have the large thread stuff, so I ordered online. Don't waste your money ordering a "lowering kit" - the ultimate example of the Corvette Tax.
They're just bolts. Grade 8, 6.5" long x 9/16" thread. Add nuts. 7" if you want to go lower.
Mine is lowered via stock bolts and appears to be lower than yours.
It also looks like you're running a larger diameter tire than stock? That will help eat up fender gap as well.
OP, if you want a 2 finger gap, cheapest way is to remove the front bolts altogether or at least cut the bushings and throw some 9/16 or 1/2 x 6.5" long grade 8 bolts, washers at each end, and nylock nuts in the rear. It will depend on which factory springs you have as well, but that should get you about where you want to be.

I am running 18" and 19" rims but the overall wheel height is almost exactly stock as the tires have a smaller height now. For instance, the rear tire is a 295/35/19.

295/35/19 isn't the same diameter as stock. Those are a half inch taller than a "standard" C5's 275/40/18 and a full inch taller than a C5Z's 295/35/18. That's definitely helping you fill some fender gap
