The prior owner had used an "internet sensation" product for everything, including "cleaning" the dirt off (!!) These swirls and scratches were laying in wait under all the layers of the "no joke" miracle glaze.
I cleaned the car with Optimum No Rinse wash n shine, went over everything with an Optimum Ultra clay towel, then began the correction.
I used a microfiber cutting pad, followed by an orange pad with The Last Cut Compound; buffed it with a black pad and Optimum Hyper Polish. I used a Flex 3401 DA polisher on speed level 3 and 4. (the 2nd and 3rd pictures have springtime pollen showing on the surface, but the scratches are gone)
When the polishing was done, I then prepped the surface with Paint Prep and gave it a ceramic coating of Optimum Gloss Coat.
This is Cordelia a year later; she's twenty years young and still enjoying the sun-

His paint was gnarly, too. Here is a before/after of the top of his rear bumper...

I use a variety of protection and gloss-enhancing products on my car. Doesn't make too much difference when the paint is corrected, really. Depends on what I have handy. These pics are from when I first corrected the paint properly back in 2018...
