You can thank the government for that. Mandatory safety garbage is bloating cars and there's not much we can do about it without making costs go sky high.

It's still quicker than any other Corvette before it.

I told the wife that I was going to look at the C8 and she said OH HELL NO every time you look at something you come home with it. I really don't have anymore room for toy's in the 2 garages i have already.

I'm with you! I would much rather have a really nice '67 BB 4 spd air coupe, alloys and side exhaust, than a C8!

I got another call from my Chevy dealer buddy that they had a C8 in clean-up. Here it is - $95,000 - 1300 miles on the clock.

And I got to sit in it - very cool - I really love the color. I doubt I’ll be able to afford to buy one (unless I win the lottery) but it doesn’t cost me a dime to look - lol.

I believe that there were only 3 built w/ac - and they have sold recently in the upper 6 figure area - but it doesn’t cost anything to dream - lol.

Been there had a 66 BB lots of fun love the look and the side pipes. But now the looks are still there but the ride and handling are so outdated it takes the "fun" out of the drive. Cant wait till I can get a C8.

OP - thanks for your thoughts on the C5 vs C8. Good to read how members feel about the latest and greatest compared to prior generations.

most dealers have 10 to 15 grand mark up, and most are sold cars just seating on display

it’s very hard or practicality impossible to find new C8 seating at the dealer without 15k markup

C8 is exotic car in every way minus the price.
Oh and that 59.900 price tag GM said, does not exist.
Most C8s average selling price is is 85.000 to 98.000 range, fully loaded Z51 on Gm website is 109.000 dollars.

I remember my dad saying that years ago, but what about the “one year runs” like the ‘58 Chevrolet Impala? Lol

Sure it does. You just need to order one that way.

The closest I got was a customer who ordered a 100% base car in black, with red interior, and red calipers. $59995 + 595 = $60,590 plus taxes and fees (which are never included in the advertised price for any car in the US - ever).

Dealers don't keep base model cars because there's markup in every option. More options = more gross profit. With limited allocation, would you order a fleet of basic models or a fleet of loaded ones you could make more money on?

Business is business. But to say they don't exist is simply not true.

Mine is 3LT Z51 magnetic suspension (FE4), front lift, carbon fiber interior, custom color interior override(Jet black/Red seats), Red calipers, transparent roof were the options.

$85,210 msrp.... paid that... Plus TTL

It feels like a bargain after having put 3500 miles on it and loving it every one. Doesn't matter if a car is 3 grand or 300 as you enjoy every mile.
