will pick up my c-5 (97) tuesday if no rain. this is my retirement car (i'm 74). can't wait. i was just wondering since i'm old school if there are rally wheels that will fit this 97 and is that considered hoaky i can live with the factory wheels but i have always loved and had the rallys. i think this red vette would look very nice with a set of rallys. would keep the factory ones and maybe swap them around some times. what do you think? thanks Denny
Forgeline has a heritage series with some rally-ish looking wheels (assuming they can do custom offsets for those). Could find something that is a more modern interpretation of a rally wheel to match the C5?
The last Corvette to use a Rally wheel, was a C3. Those wouldn't come close to fitting a C5. The aftermarket offers custom Rally wheels that can be ordered to fit. https://www.wheelvintiques.com/66-se...18-silver.html These are available in a 17x9 size, with correct offset. Downside is weight as these are made from steel. https://www.americanracing.com/produ...olished-barrel These are available in 17x9 and 17x10, with correct offsets. Not inexpensive.
I have seen an aluminum version of the old style rally on some resto-mod Camaros and Chevelles. Looked great seeing a classic with a modern twist. Not sure who manufactures them, but they were tastefully done.
Personally, I don't think they area "match". The C5 despite its age is essentially a modern car and IMO looks best with more modern wheels. That's the reason so many of us with early C5's dumped the "SUV" wheels they came with.
And, to think, in the "old days" the first thing many of us did was ditch the Rally wheels and put on Crager SS or AR Torq-Thrust wheels!
Hope you can find the ones you want and please post pics once you do.
