My guys wanted to do the windshield - but decided against this as I have HUD....
HUD here too (I retrofitted it). Prior to cleaning the inside of the windshield I covered the HUD with packing tape, and left it there during windshield tinting. No problems so far, knock-on-wood. Although Patches' recommendation of Tint Masters said they wouldn't do the windshield because of HUD... one of the reasons I didn't pick them.

80k in sfv, scv left me broke and working 7 days a week f that.
Mine turned out pretty darn good, only had to drive 8mins away, and they matched the lowest price quotes I had. No complaints here!
Yeah it's certainly expensive to live & work here. I do pretty well as a 31yo Mechanical Engineer, though we're a dual-income household living in a townhouse.
in reality, it’s not about price. It’s about quality. Find someone who can do the rear window in one piece with full adhesion to the dot matrix without using glue, paint or wrap. If they say it can’t be done. Move on to the next tinter.
