I saw a ad on our local buy sell. A guy was selling a mint set of Z06 seat covers. I have a tan/black base interior with tan seats, the “leather” is questionable at best but they were in decent shape. I contacted the seller and agreed on a price of $280. I think that was more than a bargain.... anyway I did all the labor myself which was very easy and the outcome is fantastic! The leather is so much better quality and I like how the vertical stitching is much closer together. My seat foam was still good so I didn’t have to replace those. I blacked out due Z06 in the headrests.
Jack is right not a bad price. Nice job nothing like taking pride in doing it yourself. Since you had the seats apart did you place a barrier between the seat frame wires and the foam before you put it back together?
As a matter of fact I did. The foam was cut into the wires so I placed some heavy duty cardboard under the foam, actually 2 sheets of it, and then 3M glued it in place. The seat feels way better now. I used to sink into it because of the wire cutting into the foam. The passenger side was fine.
And yes I take pride in doing jobs myself! If I can do it I will instead of paying a shop. I did lots of sweat equity on my C4 and when it came time to sell it I profited.
