Have another post on headlights but this one is a little different. Originally headlight wouldn't pop up on first try but always on second try. Now I noticed the gear noise when they close, so assume plastic gear is shot. This is real question: Just noticed that headlights pop up when park lights position is selected but lights aren't on, turn one more click to headlights position and lights stay up and lights come on. Is the bad gear noise and the pop up when park position is selected related. Will definitely be replacing motor gear or entire motor and hope it solves all the problems, what you guys think. Thanks 2003 Z06
Your issue should go away when you change the motor. when you take the motor out remember the exact placement of the arm that attaches.
That was what I was hoping, yea saw a youtube and the position of motor where it fits on actuator arm is critical or otherwise it will be out of time so to speak, correct? Thanks for responding.
exactly. And also I’ve found that a ratchet wrench 10mil and a snub 10mil work best.
Curious would u suggest rebuild with bronz gear or replace entire motor that I assume has plastic gear. Advance auto is 139.00 for replacement motor and bronz gear kit is around 50.00. I think I will rebuild. Thanks
Interesting. My lights come up on that first click but don't turn on. I know I need a headlight motor in the right side, but I've been ignoring it because I don't drive at night very often. Hmmm.... might have to do something about that now.

Yea I don't drive at night much either. My issues started with drivers light not poping up on initially turning on lights had to cut off and back on second time then the gear growling and then the poping up on park light selection. New motor fixed all three problems plus the stops were indented pretty good so just turned them over. Motor change pretty easy job. Good luck with it.
