My C-Tek tender scenario: I have the car plugged in all day, light is yellow all day. I just went out and looked. I unplugged the charger and then plugged it right back in and the light went to green right away. Is this thing going bad? It's been doing this for the last few weeks now and I've had it for at least 5 or 6 years so I'm thinking I may need to change it out for another one or maybe a different brand. I have a green battery tender, acquired from my son in law, on my truck for the last couple years and that one seems to work really well too. Might get one of those to try. Just wondering really if anyone else has had their C-Tek act like mine is right now.
Had the ctek 7000 - let me down and battery then died - in the garbage it went. I now use Noco brand, Genius 7200 models which are now replaced by the new genius 10 model by Noco
I have the one for my C7 and it was defective from the start. Would never come off or charge to maintain which is bad for battery. Warranty replaced it and Ok for last 3 yrs.
Thanks for the comments guys. I'll check out the voltage for sure. See if I can remember to bring my meter home from work in the morning. Might just be an indication issue, good idea. I'm pretty sure it's charging, just not sure it's shutting itself off when the battery gets to full.
I've had the Ctek 7002 for about 1.5yrs, It charges the Vette and my Jeep just fine. No issues at all, well, other than me trying to drive off with it still connected one morning. Gladly, it only killed the 10' extension and not the charger or battery connections...
I think the battery is on it's way out so that is a possibility I'll have to consider too. It's gotten harder to crank then it use to. I'll be looking into another battery this next weekend possibly.
