Walmart or Advance Auto with 25% off coupon. There are only a few companies (like Johnson Controls) making them in this country with many different labels and warranty but not much difference inside. Then there are those colored models that cost double or triple and look nice and pretty at the car shows. $100 or $250, you decide.
There is some debate over what's best. Most agree that a spill proof battery is a must. I personally like the Optima red top. Others here will disagree. A good battery is important though as bad ones can cause all sorts of issues with the C5.

I agree regarding the Optima. I bought my car seven years ago. Never a problem with the two batteries I bought. I replaced the first one after 4 years as a precautionary measure. I still have it in my garage and use it for miscellaneous work. It still stay charged for months.
I just purchased an Interstate battery at Costco for $99 plus tax. Seems to start the car, the battery it replaced was from 2002 and still worked fine.
It doesn't matter what brand you buy but you SHOULD buy an AGM style. The C5's PCM is right below the battery. Lead acid batteries can leak and if it does, the acid will go down and could cause some expensive repairs. Do a search on "battery leak" on the C5 forum and you'll see plenty of horror stories.
I personally like the Optima Yellow Top. I have these in four of my vehicles (Red Tops in the other two vehicles) 34/78
I have a yeller top in mine at this very moment and will be replacing it most likley tomorrow. It's been in the car for quite a few years and I even bought it used for like $45, it was only a year old at the time. It's been acting weird so I figured it's time. I'm leaning towards the red top this time though. I've had a red top in my truck since 2006 and it's still going strong, knock on wood...
