Default Shipping a C5

Can anyone recommend a reputable company to ship a Z06? If I can’t make a road trip and can get one shipped at a reasonable price, that will expand my options greatly. I’ve found several, but they’re all 500+ miles away.

Ship a car, at a reasonable price? Good luck with that. Why not fly out and drive the car back home?

I had a car shipped from Vancouver, B.C. to Pennsylvania, about 3000 miles. Was about $1500.00 by Reliable and took 5 days on a closed carrier. I also had one from Grand Rapids, MI. which is about 500 miles by FEDEX. Both dropped in front of my house. IIRC FEDEX charged me about $600.00.

GOOD LUCK...

Shipped 3,000 miles, for $1,500? How long ago was that? Last car I had shipped with Reliable was from Central California to North Texas, less than 1,500 miles. Cost was $1,490 and that was four years ago.

I had multiple quotes to ship a C5 - open truck from SC to KY (800 miles) for $440 and up.

You might want to check with PlyCar - I think at least one of the forum dealers use them to ship cars.

I used Intercity several years ago. Would have to look up cost, but service was excellent. I was informed of progress throughout day and updated with estimated time of arrival.

In October 2019, I had a supercharged C5 shipped from Southern California to Southwest Florida (about 2500 miles) on an open carrier for $1050. The company I used was Southwest Florida Auto Transport.

Thanks for the info everyone, I'll look into the recommendations. Ideally, I'd like to fly up and take a road trip home, what better way to enjoy a new Z06, but the work schedule may not allow it. I want to have every option I can when I find the right one.

Shipping via open carrier is much cheaper and Reliable's trailers are enclosed. SFAT sounds like a broker and I will never use one of those, again.

Good luck in your search. When I purchased my 1990 ZR-1 in Kinston NC, I flew out there and drove it home. My 91 Callaway ZR-1 was in Phoenix and my wife and I drove out to get it. Had a blast, both times.
Bought my 94 ZR-1 in Augusta GA, in Dec.14. It was delivered via open trailer, by private individual. Cost was $1k. Luckily, my Z06 was only a short distance away.

Buddy have you heard about Citizenshipper vehicle shipping service ? I am using their service since last one year to ship my car inside states. And i am pretty much satisfied with their service in terms of pricing and safety.
They are very much similar to Uship. My friend also last month ship his ford using their service. Due to bidding system there we get good pricing.
Check if they work well in your case or not.

I can give you advice on reputable companies for shipping, including the one I work for because that is what I do for a living....First off, shipping enclosed will always be more expensive but, that is what I always recommend for people who prize their vehicles condition no matter what the make and model are.

I delivered a 2019 911 about a month ago from San Diego to Danvers, MA and I believe the cost was $1500 for the new owner. Depending on the size of the vehicle and distance where the vehicle is coming from, factors in what the bottom line will be....Pickup trucks and SUVs will always be more.

Most of your top of the line car transporting entities travel 48-states and can deliver right to your driveway if you live in an area that isn't like a bull in a china shop trying to navigate getting a 18-wheeler in there, otherwise an alternate location that is suitable will need to be arranged.

Lastly, what is your idea of reasonable for shipping? You can certainly get bargain basement pricing from some fly by night operation but, you really roll the dice with that option and certainly not enclosed.

Any other questions regarding transport, I can certainly answer for you or point you in the right direction.

Best regards, Thomas M.
