If anyone can direct me to a thread on this topic, I'm glad to go there.
I'm kinda a non-car guy; so, any answers need to be real basic if possible
I'm transitioning from Miatas to a Corvette. I've owned 5 and 6 speeds plus automatic Miatas. Now I'm looking for an auto Vette. I downshift my auto Miata when approaching curves here in the North Carolina mountains. Is it ok to do that in a Vette without hurting the transmission? I tried the same technique recently in a C5. Worked great.
Thanks for all your help.
Should be no problem. The only issue that comes to mind is the shift cable on auto C5's. The nylon gromets at each end of the cable wear out with age. Additional shifting might cause that to happen more quickly. I modified mine so that won't happen again. If you are interested in how I did that let me know.
