I'm already paranoid enough driving my C5 as is. I cant imagine the stress of driving an even lower C5. I wouldn't be able to enjoy it cause I know if there is ANYTHING in the road then I'm hitting it.
Now that I think about it why can't people just leave Corvettes alone? Aren't they cool enough looking already? It seems Corvette owners especially are never satisfied with their car.
Why even buy it if you dont like it? And you obviously don't like it cause you change everything about it.
If everybody did the exact same thing to their car, boy would places like this forum be boring. Everybody likes different things. When I bought my C5 13 years ago I said I'd never do anything to it.....I have had 3 different wheels, 3 different sets of seats, etc. It's not about not liking a car-it's about customizing it. People modify cars-if you want to leave yours stock-that's fine too.
Because it's too high from the factory, comes with lowering adjustment built in, and looks way cooler lowered a bit. That said, man do what you want! It's your car, it's all good
Why ?
I just lowered mine and I couldn’t be happier.
absolutely no problems at all, looks beautiful and handles much better, lower center of gravity.
but I understand that some parts of the country has better roads than the other, so that’s something to consider.
Both of my 2000 Corvette C5 coupes were lowered (and supercharged) by the previous owners. I like it, as it looks good, should be more aerodynamic, and might have a higher top speed.
The better question may be, is your self esteem and lack of friends so low that you have nothing better to do than troll this forum with stupid *** controversial questions?

I've heard rumors they were always meant to be lowered. But has this ever been proven true?

I'm just trying to bring activity to the forum. Just because my threads aren't traditional doesn't mean I'm trolling.
I actually have a personality compared to most Vette owners. Should I apologize?
I regretted reading some pf the anti social replies posted to a harmless question. ,but I guess it comes with the territory, and is a reason I don't hang here more than I do.
My answer is that my used car came that way, as a car set up for factory stock Xcross. Although I wouldn't have done it myself, when parked next to another C5, my lowered car looked much cooler. I childishly enjoyed that imagined victory over an owner I would never meet, and that reinforced my decision to continue to have to compensate for the lowered car on every driveway approach.
A buddy once mentioned to me that here in Los Angeles everyone lowers their Porsche, where back in Hawaii, he raised his, like everyone else, because of the roads.
I am sure you know about under car airflow and center of gravity, but , just like replacement wheels, most people just do it for looks, for the fun of it.

You need to read his other threads to understand the prevailing sentiment. His activity consists of asking very subjective benign questions and acts as though it stimulates activity on a otherwise dead forum, when we all know that just isn’t the case. No one is unjustly being a d-bag here, and I’m sure it will be yet another profile that pops up and goes away within a couple of weeks. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised If it’s the same dude creating the accounts.

I posted a thread recently about this subject - and I dropped my car and couldn’t be happier - I also asked about the need to get an alignment since someone suggested that the alignment settings are based on lowered from the factory.
My car has been lowered (slightly), but I'm actually thinking about having it raised back to stock. You see, I have this STEEP driveway and. . .
That’s why the Corvette is raised at the factory so to be able to load them on transports. I saw/read somewhere that the dealership are supposed to lower the Corvette once received from the factory.
