Default Single zone Air Cond. module

I know they are hard to come by, but has anyone seen, or heard of, an available single zone air conditioning module, or faceplate? Are these ever hard to find! Do I have the only C5 in the world, that has one?
Trying to complete my interior and this is one of the last replacement pieces I need.
HELP! HELP! Please!

From what I understand, yes, the single zone HVAC control unit is hard to find. Try one of the used parts vendors on the forum (VetteNuts or aescorvetteparts) and see if they have any good used ones in stock.

I have the manual climate control also and fortunately I haven't had need of any parts for it. So I can't honestly help you out here. Do what Vetteman Jack suggested and try a salvage yard.

My red 99 has the manual climate control but my black 99 has the dual climate control which tells me the dual climate control was an option. Apparently, the optional dual climate control was ordered a lot. I wasn't aware that the single climate controls had issues.

I wish my car didn't have the awful dual zone nonsense. Not sure why people think it's so great anyway. I was looking into getting the standard climate control controller but apparently it's not a plug and play job and you have to tear the dash out to change everything. Bleh. I would love to have a basic 3 **** system in the car.

I replaced mine with ACDelco 15-72687 from Amazon, although it looks like they have significantly upped the price on it ($298 now, was like $50 or so 2 years ago). Exact fit, just a slight difference in gauge lighting color - blueish tint - and the tactile feel of the ***** is a little different. I had white LED bulbs in the auto shifter, matched them pretty closely. Looks like the OEM part number for that one is 10447471, referenced to fit 2000-2003 Impala and Monte Carlo with Manual HVAC.

Great answer, I checked all that have been described, but to no avail. I need the faceplate refinished, perhaps 3D laser printing could do it. Anty experience out there?

I would think that a good laser printing/etching shop would be able to do it, but it may be cost prohibitive for a single unit - would be a decent amount of design work involved to get it right. I would say it may be worthwhile to have multiple decals made that you could sell to people in similar condition, but with the apparent rarity of single-zone HVAC that may even be a limited market.
