When I had my C5s, I always used a Battery Tender Plus on the car and left the battery in place.

Battery tender, but I try to drive it before they start putting salt on the ground, once salt goes down I wait till spring rains to clean up the roads.

The only reason to remove a battery is if it is old, near end of life and in a location where it may freeze and crack. A fully charged battery won't freeze and leaving a battery tender on it helps.

Most of my cars are on a Deltran Battery Tender. I also use a CTEK on one of them. Can't go wrong with either of them though the CTEK is probably better (more expensive too)

I use a CETK 3300 all year long for my '99 FRC garage queen. I try to drive in the winter when the roads allow...

I use a Deltran Battery Tender Plus that I purchased from the National Corvette Museum.
Decent price, too.

I just hook up the trickle charger to the battery and let it sit. I have a NOCO genius 10. It is a battery tender with a battery repair mode... that feature has paid for the device many times over by significantly prolonging the life of my batteries. The repair mode also brought life back to old batteries that have been sitting for a while or simply wont maintain a charge.

Many other brands have trickle chargers with the repair mode built in as well; just shedding some light with my recent experience after deciding to go with the NOCO 10.

I installed a weather proof quick connect in the passenger side vent behind the RF tire. Anytime the car has sat for more than a week, I'll plug in the battery tender. Takes 30 seconds max.
