Have you changed the intake manifold yet? With all your other mods you should see a pretty good gain.

Well being a 98 it won't even have a LS6 intake on it (all 01-04 cars got the Z06's LS6 intake) so it's being choked quite a bit with that original LS1 intake considering all the other mods. I mean you could throw nitrous at it too.

Did a little digging and I think that this is exactly the type of mod i was thinking.. i use to own a fox body stang and swapped the heads and intake from a 99 explorer onto it and the difference was crazy. I had no idea that the intake swap on the vette would be something to consider.... I think i will go with this. What about TB? Should I be sticking with stock or will that need to be upgraded. After my little bit of research i didnt see anyone really mention it... jusy basically swap intake and all gaskets. No mention on injections or tb needing or recommend....

I think im okay without the nos tho lol

Thanks for the info.

How much is it gonna run me to get it tuned? Is this gonna be a trip to the dyno or a mail in my pcm type of tune?

Well you can certainly just swap an LS6 intake (if you can find one) to your motor with no other upgrades and gain some power.

There is a bunch of ways to go about this though, Dorman 615-900 cost less than a 615-901 but the -901 has a 90mm TB opening for instance. If you go for a 90/92mm intake then peakspeedshop.com has ported reconditioned 90mm TBs for $425 ready to go or they will port your stock TB for $125 if you decide to stick with an LS6 or -900 intake. If you move up to a LS2 90mm TB you will also need a TB adapter harness which is gonna be around $60.

I'd say that if you can find $1,500 dollars to go with the FAST/ported 90mm TB setup. This will net you the most gains and is really the cheapest thing you can do besides forced induction to get further meaningful power increases. To save about $300 and sacrifice a few hp by comparison Rockauto has the -901 for $657.

If you can't find a LS6 intake then a Dorman -900 and ported stock TB are your next best option for the least amount of cash.

I definitely don't regret my A&A supercharger kit. However, I did have to upgrade my transmission after that.

I can only imagine how much fun that is. I use to be mildly obsessed with Grandprix GTPs really loved modding those and that SC wine is addicting. I cant imagine how awesome it would be on my vette. But rate now i think the 6-7k for the kit is out of my price range... unfortunately.

I’d save money for repairs, or maybe some paint restoration and protection.

Car past 20 years old, maybe well kept and now you have it. Have the paint corrected professionally, maybe have clear film added to protect from chips, ceramic coating to make it look wet always.

I specifically asked a question regarding performance modification. But thanks for your no info opinion... my car could have been painted a year ago or maybe its flat black and paint repair is the last thing on my mind. Time to go give your useless advice to someone who is asking for a paint job question.
