Default Velocity Intake Manifold

https://www.corvettemods.com/C5-Corv...s_p_20106.html

This is the intake manifold I'm looking at. My car has cams, stage 2.5 PRC heads, and long tube headers. (I just bought the car, it has way more mods but I don't know what they are)

First question: It says it's got a 102mm throttle body opening. Does this mean that it requires me to have a 102mm throttle body? If so, I'm probably not going to get it.

Second question: I'm considering buying carbon fiber fuel rail covers, as my car has nothing there. Will this be able to fit with the covers and fuel system? Here's a pic of the engine bay, not sure if it has aftermarket fuel rails.

Your worst mistake will be buying anything, from Corvette Mods. They are huge crooks.

Uh oh. I'll order this from the manufacturer then. Do you know any of my questions, though?

The fuel rail covers should fit, what year is your car?

2004. Mainly considered as to whether or not I have to get a 102mm throttle body.

Your car only has one cam.

For your combo if you want to make power go with a FAST 92 intake for the easy route. 90mm throttle body and retune the car.

Skip the fuel rail covers IMO.

yeah my bad, used to saying cams lol.

Considering the 102MM I found for 379$, is it worth it to spend almost a grand on FAST, that will either be the same or minimalistic over the velocity? As for the tune, my car is tuned but the problem is I have zero information about it, so kind of reluctant to even touch the tune. (I just bought this car).

So if I get a 102mm intake manifold, is it a requirement to have a 102mm TB?

The thing is you're talking about spending money now on an intake that is going to be a side grade from the one that you have on your car already so if you're going to upgrade why not just do it right and get the FAST? if you're doing it just for the bling that's fine just understand that it's not actually going to be an upgrade. And yes you can get a adapter that will convert the 102mm intake opening to the 78mm of the stock LS1 TB. Cost is going to be around $50.

Call me overly suspicious, but $379, list price, for a "fabricated" aluminum manifold. That sounds awfully cheap, for a quality part.....

You're going to need to get a 3 to 4 bolt throttle body adapter. And at that point - why bother with the big opening anyway?

Those Chinese fabricated intakes aren't that great. It might even be a downgrade on your setup. EDIT: You have an 04, so you have an LS6 intake. I'd paint what you have before I threw good money after that fabricated intake.

And as said above, Corvette Mods are scum of the earth and I wouldn't give them my last dollar even if it meant saving all the dolphins and the trees. I'd burn it first.

With an '04, you already have the LS6 intake. Unless you are going to change the cam and install headers, I wouldn't bother with the intake manifold or throttle body.

If I were you I would do some research other than on this forum.
There are several good aftermarket intakes. I do not know a thing
about your driving style. Some intakes will not make power until
you are in the high rpm. Some come on in mid range. You need to
research. Don't buy for looks. Buy for function. Good speed parts
arer not cheap.
Good luck
