I have been changing out the old halogen light bulbs on my 2004 convertible and all went well till today. I pulled out the old bulb in the glove compartment and tried to insert the new LED and immediately had problems. It was hard to get in, so I finally gave up and put the old bulb back in. Now, the light doesn't work at all with either bulb. Do you suppose that I broke the connectors, and if so, can I order a new switch from somewhere? I can't find it listed on any website.
Mine did the same thing. I was frustrated. Said screw it, i'll fix it tomorrow, Tomorrow came and opened the glove box and the light was on again. I think there is a timer on it.
There is a timer on the interior lights. If you leave the door open too long the interior lights go out. My guess would be that the glove box light is on the same circuit.
I used my wife’s compact mirror to see what was going on in that glovebox. Made changing the bulb simple. Used my iPhone flashlight to see in with the mirror.

I checked the light today and it's still not working, so I took the switch out and ordered a new one. Maybe it will work then. I'll report back. Thanks for responding.
Hey guys. I know this has nothing to do with my glove box light but.....my glove box is stuck closed. It seems that the latch works fine however it feels like the ‘hook’ that wraps around the metal grab piece attached to the dash isn’t releasing enough to open the glove box. Has anyone experienced this? And if so, is there something I can do and use to help get the glove box open without damaging the box? Thanks for any help out there.
