I am looking at a 2000 and the owner has owned it since 2008 and sad that he entire electrical was redone last year due to an issue with that vehicles year for turn signals, lights, and other various dash controls.. I asked if a dealer did the work and he said that it was done by a private mechanic he has been using for a long time. I have not heard of this problem before, is it common?

I agree. Even though I have owned a 2000 for going on 18 years, had I known of the electronics and mechanical advantages of the '01 and newer C5s, I would've run away bravely....As fast as possible. Of course, none of us were aware of these differences at that time. But there are quite a few advantages in seeking out an '01, or newer C5. I suggest the OP take advantage of the Forum members experiences, and look for a newer C5......

This is the exact reason that I posed up here, I suspected that I would get this advice, but wanted to be sure. Thanks to everyone for the info.
