So my buddy here at the office is telling me about a house he is looking at buying with his wife. He starts to show me some pictures of the house on his phone - flips past the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, bedrooms, the garage... Suddenly, I went 'Hold up!"...
So there, covered in dust - I think I see a black C5 ZO6.
I called my buddy's realtor and he's putting me in touch with the owner. I guess the guy was a car collector (there was another 6 car detached garage with the house) - and this was left behind.

Either a Z06 or a FRC. I don't see a Heads Up Display opening on the dashboard (2002+ Z06s had this as standard) so likely either a 2001 Z06 (slightly less performance than 02-04 Z06s) or an FRC.
Owner still has an opportunity to remove all possessions (including the car) before sale closing/settlement date, so it's not "left behind" though you might be able to negotiate a good deal with the owner. Even if they did leave it behind after the closing date, I don't believe the homeowner becomes the car's owner without the title for the car being transferred as well.

I'm thinking it's an FRC because they were pretty stripped down with limited options (no Hud) when original released.
There are generally lots of '01 Z06s out there... all of which were HUD-less from the factory as mentioned above. I'd bet there were more '01 Z06s produced than FRCs.

While the '02-'04 Z06s did have a 20hp advantage over the '01 Z06s, most, if not all of that can quickly be made up by going to 1.8:1 rocker arms on the '01 Z. Don't know if that requires different valvesprings, or not. If it did, the later Z06 valvesprings would be sufficient. If this car is part of an estate sale, you may have stumbled across a real gem, at a good price, too.....
The bad quality of the wheel that's visible for some reason is making me feel like it's a wagon wheel. I was thinking the fender might be showing the edge of a Z06 emblem like someone else thought, but I figured it could just as easily be a reflection.
