So this is gonna make me sound old. I am 55, average height and weight and average fitness. I have had my C5 Z06 for two weeks tomorrow. I've noticed knee pain in my right knee. Kinda like mild tennis elbow. I fear it's how I'm getting in and out of my car. Any suggestions how I can avoid this? Anyone else experience this? Not going to stop driving my dream car, but would be nice to do so without pain. Thanks a bunch, ML
Get in the right way. Turn and go over the bolster before you pivot your legs under the steering wheel. You might be twisting oddly to get in to a low space. Good luck. I’m older and am keeping mine for the duration!

I'd also suggest keeping an eye on your right leg's posture while driving. i.e. if your leg flops over to the side, putting your knee at an angle. Being of larger height (6' 3") my legs don't have much choice of how they're positioned, but I occasionally notice if my knees aren't straight enough.
(FYI I don't have any knee pain from this, but may get some discomfort. Though perhaps this is because I'm "only" 31.)
In June I got my 1965 Chevy truck back on the road and first long drive in years, with my height and length of my legs, going on a trip moving the truck about 45 minute freeway drive, my right ankle and back of calf were in a position that was pretty uncomfortable.
The way the accelerator pedal is and my leg and foot bent weird it kind of hurt, had to pull foot back at the top to hold the pedal at that position.
Started driving truck every couple of days and got my leg foot and ankle more "in shape" so it doesn't bother me anymore.
That would be my guess (and hope) that you"your leg/body has to get used to it?" I know that was the case for me when I purchased a C5 that had a roll cage in it. After a few ins and outs, my left leg was sore. Since then, my leg has built in a tolerance for it and I no longer have the pain. I do however, still swear getting out of the car. Not because it's painful, just a PITA to do.
I hope you find a solution because the C5 is a great car.
Definitely need to get in and out the right way. Sit sideways and swing your legs in. Don't step with your leg and put your whole body weight on it. You'll have a bad time.
Then to get out, open the door, swing your legs out, and stand up.
Thanks everyone for all the feedback. Will be more diligent about the "swing." If all else fails ... ibuprofen as I will continue to enjoy my sweet ride!

I'm having the same issue with mine, which is new to me, but I also have hit my head on the upper door rail when I "stand up", which is kind of tough with this car. It's very low, and I'm considering raising the height a little.

14 years never hit my head, year 15 hit it twice, year 16 hit it twice is the roof getting lower or is my head getting bigger?
You know what they say- “50 is the new, well, it’s still old enough to have stupid injuries. Sprains from walking down the streets, pain from neck snapping to look at girls waaaay too young for you and yes, knee pain from getting in and out of our mid life crisis mobiles. Having a Corvette makes these things suck a little less!
I wish I had a video of my friend getting out of my black 99. That Vette has a roll cage installed and he weighs (I'm guessing) 375 lbs. He barely got in but when it came time to get out, He wouldn't accept help so after a minute or two of trying different ways, he finally got out. The kicker of the story is after we had lunch, he had to get in the Vette and do it all over again. Picture of the Vette and the roll cage. The picture was taken when I was repairing the driver's seat and putting in a lot of sound deadening and sound absorption materials.
You can google "gas pedal knee" - truckers also get it. I have it as well - when driving my 2016 4runner. Trick is to try and keep toe heel and hip in a single plane - don't lean too hard on the heel - and another thing I read was "try and keep your foot flat on the gas pedal" I'm also a skier so pay very close attention to this. Another thing is to exercise the muscles that stabilize the knee.....
My problem is with my left hip after a long road trip. My left leg has a tendency to flop over to the left, and after 7 or 8hrs. of driving my left hip is killing me. I have to try and straighten my left leg all the way out til my foot is touching the firewall. Not easy...I'm 6'4". Or I bring my left leg all the way up, and push my knee to the right to straighten my hip up. Gettin' old is a beeatch!!!!!
Do you get any pain in the knee when going up or down stairs/doing knee bends? Or is it just car related? If the former, get it looked at, you may have a touch of arthritis - it can hit at any age. If only in the car, as others have said, try different leg angles, adjust seat position, etc., to try to find something more comfortable.
