Default C5 Hood Strips

Giving some thought to adding some basic strips to the hood of my C5. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to purchase the decals? Looking for strips that will be made out of a thin film if possible. Something like what is pictured below or one that would extend below the hood line. Thanks

Try your local vinyl wrap shop. I'm sure they'd be able to hook you up with whatever custom stripes you want.

A local shop as mentioned could probably do what you want or try Mike at Vettestripes.com. He has a lot of different designs in the way of stripes.

A good wrap shop can stripe your vehicle with any configuration you want, Installed price is quite reasonable.

Vettestripes. They have many options for each design! I tried to keep it local but the shops in my area only seemed to be concerned with full wraps or big money projects, they'll blow you off about small customizations.

Sure did. Called Mike a couple of times to verify the printed instructions. I don’t think English is his native language, so I needed some further clarifications.
Used the wet method, which is a pleasure. most important thing is to measure and layout to the point that you question your sanity, then do it one more time.

25 years ago, I used the 'wet method' to apply a 2-piece, 14' long, checkered-flag decal, originally intended for a extended-cab SIlverado, onto the sides of a rear engine dragster, so I have a little experience.

My concern would be how do you lay-out those twin hood-stripes parallel, and centered?

am thinking about same style stripes, White with a Silver border, on my '03 Coupe

Go to vettestripes.com, and go into the C5 section. There’s a similar blue car like yours with I believe a silver and black stripe.
The problem with our (most) cars is that we don’t have a defined corner or center to mark off from. Hood sides end in curves, no matter how small, they are not hard corners. I used a lot of painter’s tape, measured many times, and more or less ‘decided’ where my corners would be. I used whatever I could as a reference point, then put tape in that area, and <then> got exact with fine line Sharpies. As far as parallel, what Mike does is instruct you to leave the waste sections of the large stripes as spacers, so it’s pretty fool proof. If you get your centers and other reference points right, it will be great.

I got tired of the yellow!

I only buy from and recommend Vettestripes. Mike uses proven quality vinyls, is flexible, and provides input. Good friend of mine bought stripes on ebay and they never looked right.

There are several styles on EBay. Not that hard to install.

Ebay ones are frequently Chinese vinyl. I’ve tried it and it doesn’t compare to the good brands.

l’ve seen some of the EBay vinyl and they looked good. Stripes are not rocket science. Do you really think that the vinyl in the local sign shop is not from China? Also, the local sign shop stripes are probably one of projects while the EBay stripes are items that the maker has done numerous times after testing on an actual hood.
