Hi,
Well my 2000 conv is going into paint. At the same time I am going to replace the carpet and seats. I already have a set of C7 seats. I am looking for info of where is the best place to purchase a complete carpet kit. would like to stay with factory look. Can anyone recommend where would be a great place to buy from?
Thanks
I bought the ‘Truevette’ mass back from OC autocarpets a few years ago, and can, without hesitation, sincerely recommend checking with Vettenuts for original equipment carpet.
Zip and Ecklers both sell full carpets sets. I would check them out.
Be aware that Southern Car Parts is part of RPI (check the transaction feedback forum page). I've actually been pretty happy with the products I've ordered from Southern Car Parts. However, you should be aware that it will take awhile to get your order, and there is no customer service to speak of.
As for VetteNuts, they are a salvage yard. Their website does offer new products, but they can't really be trusted to honor the prices on their website. I ordered a set of RK Sport door sill plates from them about a month ago. They sent me an order confirmation that included the pricing as well as an order #. Several weeks later when my order had not arrived, I called them and was told that the pricing on their website was outdated, and that they refused to honor my order for the agreed upon price. When I said that I didn't feel that was right, they cancelled my order and told me to go elsewhere.
If you already have the seats and carper out, I would spend a few bucks on a quality sound deadening treatment like Dynamat. Also insulate under the center console to cut down the heat.
Hi
Thanks for all the answers, i will check into them. It seems that a lot of the web pages sell kits made by the same company. Has anyone used this company: https://www.ocautocarpets.com/produc...vertible-mass/
I will check the recommended companies.
Yes I have been looking at insulation kits. Would Lizardskin work any better?
Thanks Again
I just reread the replays again and see that OC Carpet was one of the sites mentioned, thanks
The thing is, virtually all of the vendors, OC, Ecklers, SCP, Zip, etc., are carrying carpets from ACC. The 'Truevette' mass back arrives in a large -- but not really huge -- box. "Mass back" means the carpet has a dense black coating on the back side, and the kit comes with fairly well fitted this jute deadening material, similar to what's glued to the original carpet. I'm attaching a few photos of my kit, just to show the quality I received. The carpet is molded to a similar shape as the original, but not trimmed -- you have to trim it to fit on installation. I was not, and am not terribly impressed with my carpet.
That said, there are not a lot of other options. Aside from used, there is ACC. My old Toyota truck's carpet is shredding, and I may very well try ACC from OC or Rock Auto. A lot cheaper of course, with no corvette tax...

I agree, although I'm not certain it has to be a full installation of the Dynamat or similar. I got a kit from crazy cowboy that included both the thermal insulation (my primary goal) and sufficient deadener (Roadkill Stinger, similar to Dynamat) to apply large swaths to flat areas, such as under the seats, the back wall, etc. Most of the vendors carry kits very close to the same.
The first time I started the car after doing my interior installation, I thought something was wrong with the motor! Then realized it was literally just that much quieter in the cabin.
